Time - hours and minutes
It's easy to learn time When you already mastered the numbers.
When telling time, there are two words to learn: dot and minute.
Dot is the colon that separates the hour and minute, it is pronounced as 點 (dian).
Minute is pronounced as 分 (fen).
So some examples of telling time are as below:
3點5分 4點15分 12點32分
One variation in this is when it comes to 30 minutes. In Chinese, we can say half, or 半(ban).
So it will be something like this: 6點半
That was the easy part, now it's the parts of day.
In Chinese, we say upper, middle, and lower noon to separate the day, so they sound like this:
上午 (shang wu) 中午 (zhong wu) 下午 (xia wu)
In addition, we add them before the time, so here are the final examples:
上午 8 點 10分 中午12點 下午 5 點半
( 8 :10 in the morning) ( 12:00 noon) ( 5:30 in the afternoon)
